We definitely need to do an night/early morning run when there isn’t much traffic. We could also do some sort of rally? Maybe find landmarks within a certain distance.

For the love of the flying spaghetti monster, please do not suffer through driving the Dragon on a Saturday afternoon lol. HIGHLY recommend early morning or late afternoon/evening if it must be on Saturday. Middle of the day is truly boring parade laps stuck behind tourists and harleys while insane sportbikers in race suits pass everyone dangerously. You can get your picture taken though if you are into that sort of thing.

I would suggest trying to get out there on Friday evening since that is definitely the best time to avoid the law, the local populace, and the knuckle draggers on the weekend. Adding some middle of the night runs in there can be very exciting too. The local scofflaws tend to come out at night with crazy contraptions and the sounds of race cars in the dark is fun in it’s own right. Seems kind of dangerous but even driving at 6/10ths feels like 11/10ths in the dark which is kind of fun too. Night time runs were probably my favorite part of my Dragon trip.

Additionally, make sure to check out roads other than the Dragon. That is a great thing to do Saturday afternoon. Head out to Wayah Road if you can, that one is a very not-well known road but quite fun. There’s plenty of closer stuff too. Here are my reports from both trips there:

Good ideas! I’ll try and implement them in! I think a early morning run is most plausible

I found that 7 am was early enough to only encounter one other car on the road. Doesn’t have to be middle of the night, but I’m an old man, with corresponding sleep patterns.
